I just love the Remote Control Metal Detector Car from Getting Personal. It's from the London Science Museum and is a great introduction to science for fairly young children - as well as teaching them about hand-eye co-ordination.



I'm sure many boys and girls will love raising it around parks and listening out for the beep as it goes over ancient Roman coins - ok so that's unlikely, but I'm sure it'll still be great fun and costs only £19.41.
