Raw Chocolate - 52% Twilight Semi Dark From The Raw Chocolate Company
I got the 52% Semi Dark From The Raw Chocolate Company from Goodness Direct for £2.92 as I was just intrigued, but I openly admit that it is a high price to pay for a chocolate bar that weighs just 44g.
The interesting thing was that it had a very aroma to the other raw chocolate bar that I've reviewed. I really don't know how to describe the aroma as other than saying their is a distinct smell of the farmyard - but I don't know if that's because I know its raw or not.
The flavour is very disctinct. It would seem that the tradtional process of making chocolate takes the rough edges off the cocoa and makes it smooth. Having raw chocolate really does leave all the rough textures and flavours to come though and its actually exceptionally nice.
In the raw chocolate bar they not only use virgin cacao butter but also American carob, sea salt and mulberries. As I'm on a bit of a health kick at the moment, it's great to review a bar that's not full of rubbish like so many are. In fact I was enjoying it so much that I almost forgot to take the photos!
Rating:
Taste: 80% - rough but balanced, delightful.
Texture: 80% - not smooth like Galaxy, but if I'd wanted Galaxy I'd buy it.
Price: 60% - At £2.92 it is expensive, but it is great quality.
